NPS Employer Contribution - Section 80CCD(2)
×
Under the New Tax Regime (FY 2025-26), the NPS employer contribution is a key deduction available to salaried employees.
Section 80CCD(2) - Employer Contribution
Limit: Up to 14% of salary (Basic Pay + DA) for salaried employees
Applicability: Available in BOTH Old and New Tax Regimes
Cap: No upper limit for this deduction (unlike 80C which is capped at ₹1.5 lakh)
Nature: This is employer's contribution, not your personal contribution
How This Calculator Handles NPS:
If you selected "NPS Pension Scheme": The employer contribution (14%) is automatically calculated based on your Basic + DA
If you selected "Statutory Pension": You can manually enter your actual NPS employer contribution amount (if your employer provides it), up to maximum of 14% of Basic + DA
This field in the deduction section adjusts automatically based on your pension scheme selection in Basic Info tab
Important Note for New Regime
Personal NPS contributions (80CCD(1) and 80CCD(1B)) are NOT deductible under New Regime
Only employer's contribution under Section 80CCD(2) is allowed as deduction
This calculator automatically computes the employer's 14% contribution
Example Calculation:
If your annual Basic Pay + DA = ₹10,00,000
Employer's NPS contribution (14%) = ₹1,40,000 This entire ₹1,40,000 is deductible from your taxable income in New Regime!
